History: 10 years ago, humans attempted to clone legendary Pokemon. Among them was Mew which the humans used a fossil of its tail to clone from. The result was not an exact copy of Mew, so he was named "Mewtwo". Mewtwo did not understand the purpose of his creation: Mewtwo, the most powerful psychic alive, created as a cloning experiment? Mewtwo destroyed the lab of his creation and left, and hosted a tournament of Pokemon battles in which original Pokemon are pitted against clones of themselves - Mewtwo's method for building an army of cloned Pokemon, and proving the clones superior to the originals. Then, Mew appears to confront Mewtwo. A battle ensues, and in the midst of the fighting, a lone human sacrifices himself to stop the battle. Touched by this act of self-sacrifice, Mewtwo decides that the purpose of one's birth doesn't matter. Mewtwo revives the human, and leaves Kanto with his army to go to who-knows-where.
